The Oldies -v- Youngies Cancer Challenge Rugby League Match and Family fun day is a fundraising day for the Capricorn Branch of the Central Queensland Cancer Fund

Oldies -v- Youngies Emu Park 2011 - The Oldies Youngies Cancer Challenge Rugby League Match and Family Fun Day took place on Saturday the 8th of October.

The evergreen Oldies gave a Rugby League lesson to the youngies and recorded the biggest score in our 15 years of history. The oldies thrashed the Youngies by the tune of 50 points to 22. Man of the match was Greg Major.

The day also involves the Squeak Roberts Ironman Race. The race was won by Damien Olsen of Yeppoon. Damien quickly donated half of his winnings back to the Cancer appeal.

The organisers would like to thank one and all for attending, especially the players and Ref Liam for providing a great torrid game of League. Again it was a case of take no prisoners. We would like to note the continued support and sponsorship by our Federal Member of Parliament Kirsten Livermore and our State Member Paul Hoolihan.

The game is played at the Bicentennial Oval Emu Park on the first Saturday after the Sydney RL Grand Final. This site is also featured on the emu park online website, a promotional site for the township of Emu Park and the surrounding areas.

The next Oldies v Youngies is on the first saturday after the NRL Grand final.
